Née en 1964, Ulrike Guérot est politologue et directrice de l’European Democracy Lab, groupe de reflexion sur la démocratie en Europe basé à Berlin. Depuis 2016, elle est professeure de politique européenne et d’étude de la démocratie à l’Université du Danube à Krems. Elle est l’auteure de plusieurs ouvrages notamment Der neue Bürgerkrieg (« la nouvelle guerre civile») dans lequel elle explique que l’Europe traverse actuellement sa crise la plus profonde depuis la guerre. Elle a également écrit de nombreux articles sur les questions européennes et est fréquemment invitée dans les médias pour commenter l’actualité européenne.
Ulrike Guérot is a Berlin-based German political thinker and Founder and Director of the European Democracy Lab (EDL), a think tank dedicated to the future of European democracy. The „Mission Statement“ of the European Democracy Lab is the realization of a political entity in Europe based on the general principle of political equality and the development of a European parliamentarism that corresponds to the idea of division of power. In April 2016, Danube University Krems appointed Ulrike Guérot as Professor for European Policy and the Study of Democracy. She is the head of the Department for European Policy and the Study of Democracy.
